Avalon: While Newfoundlander's enjoy the best game of bingo as the Satellite Bingo game, the best bingo hall award goes to Bingo Country. And garnering enough of the remaining votes to capture second place is Cowan Bingo.

Icebergs, whales, puffins or our exquisite scenery, can be appreciated to their fullest if viewed from the stern of one of the many professionally licensed tour boat operators located across Newfoundland and Labrador. The next time you’re in the market for a tour boat, why not consider one of our reader-recommended operators? 
Avalon: On this side of the island, voters suggest you call O’Brien's Boat Tour in Bay Bulls for a fantastic view of the bird sanctuary off Witless Bay. Captain Murphy’s Boat Tour, also in Bay Bulls, gets the nod for second place. And, The Scademia in St. John’s has third place all wrapped up. 
Off the Avalon: Things change a little in this region. Gander River Tours takes the top spot on this year’s ballot. Silver is awarded to Trout River Boating in Stephenville. Meanwhile, Art Andrews in Trinity catches third place.

Bowling Alley
This province has produced its fair share of top-notch bowlers over the years. So, whether you’re looking to become the next champion or are just looking for a night of fun for you and your friends, our province has a number of establishments to help you roll that perfect strike. 
Avalon: In this corner of the province, Newfoundland Herald readers suggest Plaza Bowl take home the first-place trophy this year. Second place is awarded to Pearlgate and Holiday Lanes take home third-place honours. 
Off the Avalon: Memory Lanes in Grand Falls-Windsor edges past St. Martins in Gander for the top spot. Third-place ranking goes to Bowlarama in Stephenville.

Fishing/Hunting Lodge
Fishing and hunting are two recreational activities that are enjoyed year-round in this province. The next time you want to partake in some excellent hunting or cast a line and try to bring home that ‘trophy’ catch, check out one of the suggestions offered by our voters. 
Avalon: The Owl’s Nest Lodge collected more than enough to retain first-place honours this year. Victoria Outfitters takes second place. And, finishing in third place is Awesome Lake. 
Off the Avalon: Once again Owl’s Nest Lodge in Buchans is the winner. Finishing in second place is Gander River Tours. Hide-a-Way in Grand Falls-Windsor settles into third place.

Fitness Centre
Eating healthy and getting physically active have taken on new strength in recent times. More and more Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are becoming health conscious. It is with this renewed interest that people are on the hunt for the ultimate in fitness centre. 
Avalon: New World Fitness crosses the finish line in a solid first place. Second and third place finishes go to The Gym and YMCA respectively. 
Off the Avalon: The YMCA in Grand Falls-Windsor takes home top honours this year. Crossing the line in second place is CFB in Gander. The Pulse in Clarenville settles into third place.

Golf Course
In the past, golf was considered a rich man’s sport that cool kids didn’t play. But with the emergence of players such as Tiger Woods, golf came into its own. Over the last decade or so, golf courses have popped up all over the province and it continues to attract a broad range of clientele. 
Avalon: The next time you want to tee off, voters in this region suggest you head to The Woods. Clovelly was their second choice with The Wilds rounding out the pack in third place. 
Off the Avalon: Terra Nova Golf Course scores a hole-in-one with voters in this region. The Hammonds putts into second place. And sitting in third place is Grand Meadows in Clarenville.

Skating Rink
Whether you are practicing to become the next Gary Roberts or Michelle Kwan or just want to enjoy some casual skating, you’ll want good quality ice surface. So, the next time you strap on your skates, be sure to give one of our Best of winners a whirl. 
Avalon: Without question the home of our very own St. John’s Maple Leafs, Mile One is the favourite. In the neighbouring city of Mount Pearl lies the second favourite the Glacier. Twin Rinks in Mundy Pond stops in at third place. 
Off the Avalon: Corner Brook’s Rex Plex is the number one choice in skating rink. Spinning into second place is Joe Byrne Arena in Grand Falls-Windsor. The Dome in Stephenville stands third on the podium.

Ski Facility
With winter being our longest season, it’s no wonder many people across this province have taken to outdoor recreation. Skiing is probably one of the most popular. For the ultimate rush in downhill skiing, our readers have some suggestions. 
Avalon: In this region, voters place White Hills in first place and Marble Mountain in second. 
Off the Avalon: Once again splitting the votes were Marble Mountain in first place and White Hills in second.

Sports Team
A controversial category for sure. With so many sports teams to choose from, the category was wide open. Everyone has their favourite team, you can be sure. You would think agreeing on a Best of team would be next to impossible, but voters on this year’s ballot had no trouble naming their favourites. Check them out. 
Avalon: With overwhelming support The Maple Leafs came out on top. The MUN Seahawks finished second. With third-place honours going to The Rock. 
Off the Avalon: Once again taking a comfortable first-place finish are The Maple Leafs. The Corner Brook Royals took the remaining votes for a second-place finish.

Tourist Resort
Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are known the world over for our easy going, carefree attitude and our eagerness to help those in trouble. That’s a lot to live up to. So, when we need to kick back and relax, where do we go? Voters on this year’s Best of ballot have a few suggestions, the next time you need to unwind at one our provincial resorts. 
Avalon: Retaining top spot this year was Kilmory Resort in Swift Current. Woody Island finished in second place. And, moving into third place is Pippy Park. 
Off the Avalon: Swift Current’s Kilmory Resort was the favourite in this region as well. Second-place honours go to Marble Mountain. Twillingate Island Tours takes third place on this year’s ballot.
