If you pick up a home and garden magazine and look inside, you’d drool over the beautiful display of colourful blooms and exquisite landscaping. You can enjoy some of that beauty as well by dropping into one of province’s many garden centres.
Avalon: The winner on this year’s ballot is Kent Building Supplies. Wal-Mart takes a silver medal and the bronze award goes to Murray's.
Off the Avalon: In this region, Canadian Tire takes home gold. Second place is awarded to Wal-Mart and Tizzard's finishes in third.

Gas Bar
Before you head out on the highway, your first stop is usually a gas station to fill up. The next you are preparing to head out why not consider filling up at one of the 2002 Best of winners.
Avalon: Irving Mainway is the first choice on this year’s ballot. Ultramar takes home second place and third place is awarded to Esso.
Off the Avalon: Irving is on top once again. Filling second place is Ultramar and Esso finishes in third.

Avalon: Kent Building Supplies takes home the top award this year. Chester Dawe slips into second place while Canadian Tire takes home third place.
Off the Avalon: Murley’s in Marystown crosses the finish line in first place. Notre Dame Castle Building Centre in Gander goes home with second-place honour. Third place goes to Stan Dawe in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Now that summer has arrived, home heating is probably the fartherest thing from your mind. However, as the colder weather approaches, it might be nice to know who others depend on to heat their homes.
Avalon: Irving Oil is the number one supplier of home heating fuel according to our Best of voters. Second place is awarded to North Atlantic Petroleum. Ultramar takes home third place. 
Off the Avalon: The order doesn’t change in this region. First place goes to Irving Oil. Second place is awarded to North Atlantic and Ultramar takes home third.

Hotels and motels are the perfect place to turn to on a business trip, vacation or, perhaps, to just get away. For the best in hotel/motel accommodations, check out one of Best of winners.
Avalon: The Battery Hotel and Suites, with its view of St. John’s Harbour, takes the prized trophy this year. Second place goes to Hotel Newfoundland. Rounding out the list is the Delta in third place.
Off the Avalon: The Mount Peyton in Grand Falls-Windsor carries off the first-place award this year. Second place is awarded to the Albatross in Gander. Holiday Inn in Corner Brook slips into third place.

Now that the warm weather is upon us, people young and old are pulling out their bicycles from winter storage. If your bike needs some repairs or you’re in the market for a new one, be sure to head to one of winners.
Avalon: Bills Cycle Shop edges out Canary for the top award this year.
Off the Avalon: Canadian Tire Stores pull into first place this year. S & P Source Sports in Gander finish second on this year’s ballot and T & T Professional in Grand Falls-Windsor collect the remaining votes and a third place finish.

Avalon: Sympatico surfs into first place this year. Rogers AT&T Wireless was a close second. A respectable third place goes to Interactions.

Avalon: Anthony Insurance squeaked past the competition to come in on top of this year’s ballot. The Co-operators serves up a second-place finish and in third you’ll find Steers Insurance.
Off the Avalon: The Co-operators takes the lead in this region to capture the first-place award. Second-place goes to Wedgwood Insurance and Rieds in Grand Falls-Windsor goes home with a third-place finish.

Avalon: Nuway was the top choice with voters. Chester Dawe closed in on second spot. And, Kent Building Supplies tied the loop together with a third-place finish.
Off the Avalon: Murco in Bishop’s Falls was the overwhelming favourite with voters. Second place is awarded to Modern Kitchen in Lady Cove. Starboard Woodcraft in Doyle's collected enough of the remaining votes to seal a third-place finish.
