Ideally in today’s world one parent would love to stay home and care for their children. However, financially that’s not an option. What are parents to do? Who can they entrust the care of their children to? Our readers have some places for your to consider.
Avalon: Rainbow Daycare is the number one choice amongst our voters. Second-place honours goes to KidCorp. Chatterbox Pre-School and Daycare finished third on the ballot.
Off the Avalon: Peter Pan Pre School and Daycare Centre in Gander takes the first-place trophy. Collecting the remaining votes and second place was Toddlers Corner in Clarenville.

Driving School
When it's time for your son or daughter to learn to drive, you'll want to be sure they're well aware of the rules of the road. Why not send them to driving school to get the knowledge they need? This year's best according to our readers are:
Avalon: Young Drivers takes first-place honours. Driving into second place is Pixie. Roche’s pulls up in third place.
Off the Avalon: Young Drivers takes first place while Safeway Driving in Stephenville goes home in second place.

Drug Store
Over the years, the face of drug stores have changed. In fact, it is almost one-stop shopping when you drop by your neighbourhood drug store. You can get everything from milk to cleaning supplies to cards to toiletries to make-up and more. Our voters share their favourite drug stores with you.
Avalon: Shoppers Drug Mart is the number one stop for most people in the year’s survey. Lawton's takes home second place. And third place is awarded to The Drug Store.
Off the Avalon: Once again Shoppers Drug Mart is the top choice. Wal-Mart finishes in second and Lawton's take home third.

Whether you need your favourite dress cleaned for a formal dinner or you need your shirts cleaned and press, you need to take comfort in knowing they will be well cared for and returned in good order. Not sure where to head? Check out one of our Best of winners.
Avalon: Deluxe Drycleaners finished a solid first. Second-place honours goes to Dominion. Centennial rounds out the ballot in third place.
Off the Avalon: Tony’s Dry-cleaning and Formal Wear takes a clean first place finish. Collecting the remaining ballots and a second-place finish is New Image in Lewisporte.

Doing some renovations or building a new home, you’ll need a qualified electrical company? Check out one of this year’s winners.
Avalon: Settling into first place is Emberley while Powerlite takes home second place.
Off the Avalon: Goodyear's in Gander is the first stop on our ballot. Cuffs in Grand Falls-Windsor pulls into second spot and third place goes to Pollett's in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Financial Institution
Over the years, there will be many times when you will need the services of a financial institution. Whether you need a car loan, mortgage, RRSP, RESP, there are plenty of people out there to help. The next time you need expert advice, our voters have a few suggestions.
Avalon: The Scotia Bank is the number one choice with voters in this region. CIBC comes in a close second. Royal Bank calculates a third-place finish.
Off the Avalon: When the votes were tallied, CIBC landed on the top of the pack. The Credit Union finished in second place. Third-place honours go to the Scotia Bank.

Avalon: Carpet One takes the lead this year as the number one spot for your floor covering needs. Cluney Carpets rolls out a second-place finish. And third place goes to Carpet Factory.
Off the Avalon: Cohen’s in Grand Falls-Windsor is the first stop for most in this region. Second-place honours goes to Gosse’s Carpet in Gander. Third place is awarded to Chain Store in Clarenville.

Nothing quite says I love you like flowers. Flowers are the perfect choice for that special someone on your list. The next time you need roses, carnations, mixed bouquets, etc, be sure to head on other to one of our Best of winners.
Avalon: House of Flowers gets the biggest bouquet on this year’s ballot. Allandale Nurseries takes home second place and Holland Nurseries finishes in third.
Off the Avalon: Sonny’s Flowers in Grand Falls-Windsor catches the first-place nod this year. Country Flowers in Corner Brook pulls together a second-place finish. Peddle and Roses in Grand Falls-Windsor settles into third place.

Avalon: Cohen’s is the first choice with the majority of our voters. Second-place finish is awarded to Leon’s and Island Furniture takes home a third-place finish.
Off the Avalon: Cohen’s is again the top choice with our voters. Notre Dame Agencies in Gander takes the silver medal. While the bronze medallion goes to Furniture Plus in Corner Brook.
