Radio Announcer

The radio airwaves in this province play host to many individual announcers. For many they’re the first voice you hear when you wake up. Over the years, they've become your friends and, in an odd sort of way, they are like part of your family. There were many ballots cast in this category but when all the votes were tallied, there were a few who came out on top.
Avalon: Two of the OZ FM’s Dawn Patrol take gold and silver respectively in this region. Randy Snow edges past Debra Birmingham to take gold this year. Mike Campbell takes home bronze this year.
Off the Avalon: Gander’s Mike Hibbs collects the most votes for a first-place finish. Fred Drodge in Marystown takes home a second-place finish. While, third place is awarded to Paul Raines.

Avalon: Great Big Sea are a household name across the country and are starting to make waves south of the border. No doubt their high energy and great lyrics helped them lock into first place on the ballot. Signed onto the Warner Label, The Ennis Sisters sang their way into second spot on the ballot. Sitting in third place are the Punters.
Off the Avalon: The winners list doesn’t change much as you go across the province. Great Big Sea sits in first, The Ennis Sisters in second and Celtic Connection from the province’s Southern Shore takes home third-place honours.
